Illustration

Illustration can bring any brand to life. Using illustrations can be as simple as creating custom icons for a website or as large as a fully illustrated custom marketing campaign. Explore this page for a few examples of how I brought illustration into a variety of projects.

These series of illustrations were created for Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation as part of their annual calendar that is distributed to 1600+ of their units across Ottawa. I came up with a series of theme words that spoke to the core of their organization and created 17 illustrations based around those themes.

Here are a selection of three beer cans I worked on for three local breweries that all involved some custom illustration work in a different, unique style to that brewery and label design.

I developed this illustration for a tote bag design for Dufresne Furniture and Appliances. They wanted a design that spoke to the cities in Ontario where their stores are located. I started by doing research on some regional sites in those areas and ended up with this fun Canadiana design. This tote was the distributed as a give away at all their Ontario stores.

I developed this map illustration for CCOC’s 50th anniversary. It is a map of Centretown with some small illustrations of a few of their key buildings incorporated. They ended up printing this shirt in three colour ways and it was a big hit with staff and tenants of CCOC. Photo supplied by CCOC.

I was approached by local music blog, Fan Behaviour, to create merch to sell at shows around Ottawa and we came up with this design. We worked together on the content and style of the illustration using their logo as a jumping off point for the colours and hand lettering style. It’s always a great feeling to get to design merch that you love to wear!

This simple set of icons was created for local bakery, Hello Dolly Pastries. Since developing these icons, I’ve used them in their social media posts, event posters, pop-up event banners and store front design. Custom icons can be used in so many different ways and are a great way to bring life into a brand.

Fresh Meat is a fantastic local theatre festival that gives local individuals and collectives of all levels of experience a unique opportunity to test new ideas in front of an audience. Below are the social graphics created for the 2022 Fresh Meat Theatre Season. I created an illustration for each of the 10 productions as well as accompanying social posts, season posters, story templates and promotional slides.

I designed the three beer labels shown above while working at Character Creative.
